Alex Contreras in CADE: “A pessimistic country is a country that is not going to move forward”

The Minister of Economy and Finance highlighted the need to increase confidence in the country to achieve economic progress.

Alex Contreras, head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), stressed the importance of regaining confidence in the country to move forward. In that sense, he highlighted that “pessimism” is one of the causes that impedes national and economic development.

Our potential is great and there is will,” he expressed on Thursday, November 16, during his speech at the CADE Ejevutivos 2023.

Likewise, he highlighted that by 2026, a political consensus is required that will provide stability in the country in the following years in order to implement reforms that promote growth.

He also added that for the recently presented ‘United Plan’ a meeting was held with unions where It sought to reach coincidences and the differences were taken into account in order to work on proposals that include the private sector.

“This is a Government that will continue betting on private investment. That’s why he United Plan It has many measures to encourage private investment, but also to encourage collaboration with the private sector. “We are expanding the spectrum of works for taxes,” said Contreras.
