In September, the Peruvian GDP registered a contraction of 1.29%, thus accumulating three consecutive negative quarters, according to the latest report from the INEI.
The drop in the ninth month of 2023 is the second most pronounced of the year, barely surpassed by -1.30% in May. In accumulated terms, the productive decline is 0.63% and year-on-year, 0.0%.
In detail, the contracted national production seen in September is explained by the poor performance of items such as agriculture (-8.78%); manufacturing (-9.30%); construction (-9.41%); accommodation and restaurants (-0.51%); telecommunications and other information services (-4.57%); financial and insurance (-8.93%) and services provided to companies (-2.18%).
While fishing and mining and hydrocarbons ended September in green: 16.92% and 8.82%, respectively.
