The return of contributions of the workers who contributed to the National Housing Fund (Fonavi) would restart on December 14, as stated this afternoon by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Alex Contreras.
The minister highlighted that the date has already been previously agreed upon with the Ad Hoc Commission. “We are betting that this Christmas the Fonavistas can collect,” he said.
In addition, he highlighted that former contributors will already have individual accounts. “There are resources, close to S / 2,400 million and if we add the resources that the fund has, they reach around S / 5,000,” she highlighted. Likewise, he highlighted that the return will help reactivate the economy of this population.
On Saturday, the Government promulgated Law 31928, which modifies Law 29625, the law on the return of Fonavi money to workers who contributed to it, to allow partial refund with charge to subsequent cancellation and recognize the right of return to heirs in case of death. The regulation of the standard has a maximum period of 30 business days to be issued.
It is estimated that around 1.2 million Fonavistas will benefit from the refund.
