Nexa posts 87,000 MT of zinc in the third quarter leveraged by its Chinchana Cerro Lindo mine

Nexa Resourcesone of the largest global zinc producers, concluded the third quarter of 2023 with 87,000 tons of zinc produced in its mining operations, representing an increase of 8% compared to the second quarter of this year.

The figure represents a growth of 8% compared to the previous quarter, driven by the performance of the Cerro Lindo mines (Chincha, Peru), Vazante, Morro Agudo and the start-up of the Aripuanã mine (MT).

The company also recorded an increase of 7% in copper (9,000 tons) and 3% in lead (16,500 tons) compared to the second quarter of 2023. Production of silver (2.6 million ounces) and gold (6,600 ounces) remained relatively stable in the period.

In order to optimize cash flow and achieve more efficient capital allocation, the company remains focused on maximizing the return on its assets. Recently, significant progress has been made in the technical studies of the El Porvenir and Atacocha mine integration project in Pasco, Peru.

This project involves work areas in mining planning, integration of underground mines, increased production capacity, infrastructure improvements, tailings storage capacity, among others, and has the potential to be a solid organic growth option for Nexa .
