The German international firm TÜV Rheinland issued the international certification of Organizational Carbon Neutrality for the five plants of the company Duragas Abastible, located in Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Montecristi, Pifo, Bellavista and Guayaquil.

The certification was delivered by José Javier Guarderas, manager of Sambito, entity that supported the process. Among the data shared, it was highlighted that Duragas Abastible compensates the equivalent of -2,238 tons of CO2 to the environment.
In this way, Duragas Abastible is the first Ecuadorian company in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) sector to receive the certification, which was delivered on Wednesday, December 8 at the Palacio de Cristal in Guayaquil, before national and local authorities and institutions. representatives of the chambers of production, banking and private companies.
Jaime Solórzano, general manager of Duragas Abastible, assured that sustainability management requires pacts with the environment that the company started in 2007 “with the commitment to manage environmental risks associated with the activities we develop and that today are evidenced by this certification.”
He also stressed that sustainability and business activities “are closely related to achieve balance and is key to continue providing economic, social and environmental value to the communities that host us.”
Meanwhile, through a video, the Minister of the Environment, Water and Ecological Transition, Gustavo Manrique, He congratulated Duragas Abastible “for the decision taken to be the first LPG company in Ecuador to become Carbon Neutral and find the perfect balance between sustainable development and productive development.”
