Congress: they propose that volunteer firefighters receive a bonus 3 times a year

On the initiative of the Congressman Jhakeline Ugartebelonging to the Parliamentary Unity and Dialogue bench, the Bill No. 06248/2023-CRwhich aims to provide an economic bonus to the members of the General Corps of Volunteer Firefighters of Peru (CGBVP) that are active and participate in operational tasks and emergency situations.

The norm establishes that this monetary subsidy is equivalent to 10% of the Tax unit (UIT) and is awarded in 3 armies during the months of February, July and December, with the intention of providing support on specific dates; since, despite carrying out a sacrificial work, they do not receive any type of remuneration or social benefits for providing services voluntarily and are not considered officials or public servants.

Likewise, the dates designated for the disbursement of this financial support to the men in red are given for the following reasons:

• Firstly, in the month of February the first bonus would be delivered, with the purpose of covering the school expenses (supplies, uniforms, mobility, food, etc.) of the sons and daughters of the members of the General Fire Department. Volunteers from Peru.
• In the month of July, the second batch of this benefit would be granted, coinciding with the National Holidays, the date on which formal workers receive their first bonus of the year.
• Finally, the last installment of this financial support aims to be disbursed in December, coinciding with the Christmas and end-of-year holidays.
