“We are going to get out of this recession and we will immediately have to evaluate the increase in the minimum living wage. We are aware that the minimum wage is not enough, but we need to get through this stage of recession, which is going to be a short period. The minister has indicated that in the first quarter of 2024 we should already have recovered GDP,” Maurate explained to Canal N.
The head of the MTPE added about the country’s recovery and the increase in the minimum wage: “It is not just the Government’s task, it is everyone’s task to create an environment conducive to investment.”
Finally, he stressed that we must recover from the economic crisis because more jobs are needed and this situation especially harms the poorest, since they do not have access to education and services.
