The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Peru will grow only 0.1% during 2023, after an advance of 1.5% in the last quarter, while the inflation annualized would reach 6.5%, according to The Economist.
According to the British media, the Mexico region would lead growth with an advance of 3.1%, followed by Brazil (3.1%) and Colombia (1.6%). For their part, Argentina and Chile would complete the year in negative territory with declines of -2.8% and -0.2%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the US is expected to grow 2% and China 5.2%, supported by the Euro zone that would advance 0.7%.
It should be noted that the International Monetary Fund recently cut its Peruvian GDP growth projection for this year from 2.2% to 1.1%. The Ministry of Economy and Finance did the same, which reduced its forecast in August from 2.5% to 1.1%. The Central Reserve Bank has also joined this trend, adjusting its estimate to 0.9%.
