Best practices to reduce tax evasion in international taxation will be the topic of discussion at the annual technical conference of the Inter-American Center for Tax Administrations (CIAT) to be held from October 25 to 27, 2023 in Quito.

The event, which will be hosted by the Internal Revenue Service (SRI), will be attended by delegates from several countries, including Brazil, Panama, Chile, Spain, India, Morocco, Greece, Canada and the United States, as well as CIAT representatives, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to the director of SRI, Francisco Briones, the conference focuses on one of the most important goals of his management: preventing and fighting tax evasion.

Briones’ speech is expected to address the importance of international taxation and the regulatory modernization needed to strengthen the fight against evasion in Ecuador.
