They propose tax benefits for new microbusinesses

Congressman Idelso Manuel García, from Alianza para el Progreso, has presented the bill to grant tax facilities to micro and small businesses that have just begun to operate, in such a way that they can face the context of economic uncertainty, as well as encourage formalization.

Bill 6219, Law that establishes tax facilities for small and micro businesses that begin their operationsindicates in its article 3 that it would be exempt from paying the Third Category Income Tax for a period of six months.

Likewise, during the first two years this payment can be made in up to 12 monthly installments, equal and adjusted by the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

In addition, the exoneration of the payment for rights and fees to carry out registration, renewal or request/copy of information procedures in public entities, during the first year of operation.

“Given the current situation, in which MSEs have been hit as a consequence of the El Niño phenomenon, in which 30,000 MSEs are expected to stop operating this current year, and possibly many of them will become informal, it is “The implementation of tax facilities is necessary for new MSEs that begin to operate, so that they are encouraged to do so under formality,” the document states.

The initiative was presented this October 23 and must go through the evaluation of the Congressional committees before going to the Plenary Session for debate and vote. If approved, the Executive Branch will have 30 days to dictate the corresponding regulatory norms.
