Proinversión will finalize the concession of 10 electrical transmission projects commissioned by Minem

Proinvestment reported that this week will successfully complete the concession of the 10 electrical transmission projects commissioned by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem), with an estimated investment of US$1,379 million. In this way, the orders of the Transmission Plan 2021-2030 and others pending, with the tender for the works of the 2023-2032 Transmission Plan scheduled for 2024.

The entity detailed that, this Thursday, October 26, the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the company Celeo Redes SLU will sign the project concession contract ‘500 kV transmission line Piura Nueva-Frontera substation’, awarded by Proinvestment in July of this year to the aforementioned company.

According to Proinversión, this project, which requires an investment of US$233 million, will guarantee the electrical interconnection between Peru and Ecuador with efficiency and quality for 30 yearss.

In addition, it will ensure the electricity supply in cases of emergency and the exchange of lower-cost hydraulic energy between Peru and Ecuador, as well as the increase in the 500 kV energy transport capacity of the national network to cover more locations on the coast. Peruvian

This concession is added to the awarding, last January, of the ‘Enlace 220 kV Ica–Poroma’ and ‘ITC Enlace 220 kV Cáclic–Jaén Norte’ projects (US$ 132 million), which will allow the continuous increased demand for electrical energy in the departments of Ica, Amazonas and Cajamarca.

As well as the group of five works awarded last August for US$181 million of estimated investment, made up of: ‘Inlink 220 kV Belaúnde Terry–Tarapoto Norte’, ‘Link 500 kV San José-Yarabamba’, ‘ITC Link 220 kV Piura Nueva–Colán’, ‘ITC SE Lambayeque Norte 220 kV with sectioning’ and ‘Piura East Substation’. These projects will meet the energy demand in the south, north and northeast of the country.

The execution of these works through the PPP modality has been possible thanks to the coordination of Proinversión, the Ministry of Energy and Mines (grantor), the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the COES and the Supervisory Body for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin).
