Petroecuador indicated that what was required was to give the animals up for adoption, deliver them to the shelter and first check that their conditions are good.

According to the same official statement from Petroecuador, “international standards for the control and prevention of biological risks indicate that hydrocarbon plants are areas where work carries risks and for this purpose they follow industrial safety procedures to protect the integrity of officials and avoid injury to animals present on the sites.”
