The Private Investment Promotion Agency – ProInversión held an executive meeting this Monday with the state company China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd.as part of the promotional activities of the Ancón Industrial Park (PIA) project.
The Ancón Industrial Park consists of a new industrial zone north of Lima, on an area of 1,338 hectares that was to be awarded in the third quarter of this year for a 22-year contract. Its location is considered strategic.
The US$762 million project of the Ministry of Production (Produce), relaunched by the Government in 2023, will be integrated with other large works such as the port of Callao, the Jorge Chávez International Airport and the Chancay Megaport, the latter in charge of the also Chinese Cosco Shipping.
According to ProInversión, the Asian state-owned China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd. specializes in the development of construction contracts that include the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mechanism.
“The aforementioned firm builds and develops roads and bridges, tunnels, railway lines, airports, energy supply and distribution systems, self-control systems, water supply, power plants, among others,” said the institution attached to the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).
On behalf of ProInversión there was the project director, José Rogger Incio, responsible for receiving Bai Xiaping, Senior Business Manager of the Industrial Investment Operations Division of China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd.
