More than two months ago, the Government of Dina Boluarte approved the delivery of a bonus of S/800 aimed at workers in the tourism sector to alleviate the financial difficulties they faced due to social conflict and the impacts of climate phenomena. S/800 bonus: who are the beneficiaries?
In accordance with Emergency Decree No. 029-2023, this bonus of S/800 is intended for tourism graduates who work in the field of tourist guiding, hiking, mountaineering and artisans at the national level who carry out activities independently. Its purpose is to contribute to the economic reactivation of said industry and support more than 26,000 workers in the sector who were affected by the stoppage of their work.
S/800 bonus: what are the requirements to access?
Licensed tour guides must meet the following requirements to access the S/800 bonus:
- Have current and valid registrations as of December 31, 2022 before the Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism or the one that takes its place in the regional Government
- Be in active status in the Single Taxpayer Registry (RUC) and have the status of tax domicile as of December 31, 2022
- Not be beneficiaries of other economic subsidies or other social programs nor be registered as dependent workers in the Monthly Payment Form (Plame).
S/800 bonus: when does payment start?
According to Emergency Decree No. 029-2023, the S/800 bonus from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) is valid until December 31, 2023. To finance its delivery, the transfer of more than S/32 million was authorized in favor of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism; However, to date, there is no exact date for the delivery of the subsidy to tourist guides.
S/800 bonus: How will the subsidy be delivered?
Article 9 of Emergency Decree No. 029-2023 establishes that the financial subsidy is delivered through the Banco de la Nación, an entity that prioritizes the attention of beneficiaries through its alternative channels to its offices. So far, the Government has not launched an official portal to consult this matter.
