- Doña Pepa nougat: S/4.50 per quarter kilo
- San José Nougat Nougat per half kilo: between S/11 and S/15
- San José nougat per kilo: between S/21 and S/29.
A saleswoman said that the purchase of nougat has decreased, compared to previous years. “Sales have increased a little, but of course, it is not like last year. It has dropped quite a bit. Before people carried 1 kilo, 2 kilos, 3 kilos. Now, no, they buy half a kilo, a quarter,” he commented, in dialogue with La República.
Sales of nougat are expected to reach more than 6 million kilos
The Peruvian Association of Bakery and Pastry Entrepreneurs (ASPAN) estimates that the sale of nougat will reach approximately 6 million kilos and thus exceed by 20% what was obtained in 2022. Even so, the purchase levels that existed before the COVID-19 pandemic would still not be reached. “What the baking industry has done with respect to nougat is diversify the offer and has increased the proposals, with ingredients such as purple corn, quinoa and kiwicha”said Pío Pantoja, president of ASPAN, in a previous dialogue with La República.
