The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) reported that, Since last September, four variants of the iPhone 15 have approval certificates so that they enter the country without any inconvenience. It’s about the models A3090, A3094, A3102 and A3106whose characteristics have been designed for our region.
“H.We have issued the certificates within the service periods so that users who import these models can use their cell phones without problems on the telecommunications networks of our country.. It is necessary to remember that those who buy cell phones abroad or online, whether natural or legal persons, must previously validate whether these phones are approved in the country, which is necessary for their entry,” said Carla Sosa Vela, vice minister of Communications. of the MTC.
The MTC highlighted that the approval certificate guarantees that telecommunications devices entering the country comply with the technical standards that, in the case of cell phones, guarantee that they can connect to the networks of telecommunications operators, obtaining adequate coverage of the mobile telephone service and Internet access, as well as how to receive notifications in cases of emergency and blocking in case of theft.
Likewise, he recalled that in 2019 the modification of the standard for approval of telecommunications equipment and/or devices came into effect, which establishes conditions for the operation and marketing of mobile terminal equipment (cell phones and smartphones), with which the MTC guarantees the correct operation in emergency cases. For this reason, said ministry urged those who buy cell phones abroad or online to verify if these devices are approved in Peru so that they enter without problems.
This measure covers telecommunications equipment and devices, such as cell phones, smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, POC equipment, antennas, transmitters, among others.
It is necessary to remember that users can verify if their equipment is approved by entering HERE. Additionally, you can learn about the requirements for approval of telecommunications equipment and/or devices that generate radioelectric emissions HERE.
