The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) reported that this Monday, October 2, 2023, it began with the lemon price at S/9 per kilogram in the wholesale market, while the food supply recorded the entry of more than 8,000 tons of products including legumes, tubers, fruits and vegetables.
In the case of Great Wholesale Market of Lima (GMML), the entry of 5,824 tons of products was recorded, a figure higher by 3.7% compared to the last four Mondays. Likewise, 581 tons of potatoes of various varieties were registered.
The main wholesale offers this morning were yellow sweet potato at S/0.58 per kilogram; Yungay potato at S/0.75 per kilogram; purple sweet potato at S/0.95 per kilogram; yellow cassava at S/1.01 per kilogram; Andean black potato at S/1.14 per kilogram; Creole carrot at S/1.48 per kilogram; red head onion at S/1.80 per kilogram, among others. The lemon in a bag was offered at S/9.00 per kilo and the lemon in a box at S/9.02 per kilo.
For its part, in the Fruit Market No. 2 of La Victoria, the entry of 2,558 tons of different fruits was recorded, a figure higher by 8.5% compared to the last four Mondays. Today’s main offers are the Valencia orange at S/0.93 per kilogram; banana cake at S/1.07 per kilogram; watermelon at S/1.18 per kilogram; coquito melon at S/1.25 per kilogram; Hawaiian pineapple at S/1.28 per kilogram; papaya at S/1.46 per kilogram, among others.
Likewise, the downward trend in the wholesale price of live chicken, which today was sold at S/4.12 per kilogram in the main distribution centers for live birds in the capital, while the wholesale price of eggs is quoted below S/8.60 per kilogram.
