The minimum support price per quintal of wheat will increase in Ecuador. The grass base price will increase from $22, which is currently in place, to $24 following an agreement reached at the Wheat Chain Advisory Council, held on September 27, 2023.
The agreement on the new price was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) on its X account last Wednesday afternoon. “The price was determined by consensus by the production and industrial sectors. To do this, they analyzed the production costs presented by each sector,” MAG reported.

Regarding the entry into force of this new price, the State Portfolio reminded that the minimum support prices enter into force after the signing of the corresponding ministerial agreement and that they are changed or concluded within the same legal instrument.
