The National Labor and Wages Council (HVNT) already has new representatives for the period 2023-2025. It is a tripartite body made up of representatives of workers and employers and the Minister of Labor, whose competence is to determine the single basic wage (JSP).

The legal time will be enough for the government of Guillermo Lasso to define the basic salary for 2024.

New representatives, four regular and four substitutes for each sector, employer and worker, were elected on Tuesday, September 26. These are:

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labor indicated that its leader, Patricio Donoso, will hold a call for the belonging property in the coming days, as well as for the first meeting where the basic salary that will prevail in 2024 will be defined. It was recalled that the National Salary Council must be convened independently by November 20 to define it.

The government is raising the basic wage to $450 by 2023

In the event that a consensus is not reached, the Ministry of Labor is responsible for establishing it. The current wage set for November 2023, 2022 is $450 in the absence of an agreement between the labor and employer sectors.
