Midagri: The wholesale price of chicken falls below S/5 per kilogram

The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) reported that this Monday, September 25, 2023, the downward trend in the wholesale price of live chicken continues, whichToday it was sold at S/4.67 per kilogram in the main live bird distribution centers in the capital.. Meanwhile, the wholesale price of eggs remains unchanged at less than S/9.10 per kilogram.

On the other hand, the ministry also detailed that this Monday more than 8,000 tons of food, including legumes, tubers, fruits and vegetables, entered the wholesale markets of metropolitan Lima.

In the case of the Great Wholesale Market of Lima (GMML), a total income of 6,090 tons of products (legumes, vegetables, tubers) was recorded, a figure 12.8% higher compared to the average of the last four Mondays. Likewise, the entry of 591 tons of potatoes of various varieties was recorded.

The main wholesale offers this morning were yellow sweet potato at S/0.64 kilogram; yungay potato at S/0.78 per kilogram; purple sweet potato at S/0.88 per kilogram; yellow cassava at S/1.15 per kilogram; canchan potato at S/1.18 per kilogram; carrot at S/1.23 per kilogram; mountain green bean at S/1.43 per kilogram, red head onion at S/2.33 per kilogram, among others.

Regarding the subtle lemon, this morning, at the GMML, this citrus in its bag presentation is offered at S/10.06 per kilo and the lemon in a box at S/10.65 per kilo.

Meanwhile, in the Fruit Market No. 2 of La Victoria, the entry of 2,356 tons of different fruits was recorded. Today’s main offers are the Valencia orange at S/0.78 per kilogram; banana cake at S/1.16 per kilogram; watermelon at S/1.28 per kilogram; Hawaiian pineapple at S/1.23 per kilogram; Murcott mandarin at S/1.45 per kilogram; coquito melon at S/1.35 per kilogram, among others.
