He Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) made official the expansion of the Impulso MyPerú program, which will now have an additional S/2,000 million in guarantees from the national government so that these companies can access credit under better financial conditions.

With these additional resources, provided through Emergency Decree No. 033-2023, mypes will be able to access loans backed by up to a total of S/ 5,000 million.

This strategic measure seeks to provide greater economic support to entrepreneurs and owners of mype, from all economic sectors, companies that are essential for the dynamics and economic recovery of the country.

“We are talking about one of the largest programs to promote MSEs approved in recent years, which is allowing them to be financed at low rates in a context of recovery and job creation,” Alex Contreras, said the day before, head of the MEF.

The Executive Branch determined that the main aspects of this new update are:

  • New guarantee tranches are incorporated depending on the size of the credit granted by the program:
  • Credits up to S/300,000 will have 80% coverage.
  • Credits from S/300,001 to S/1 million will have 70% coverage.
LOAN RANGE COVERAGE
S/300,001 – S/1,000,000 70%
S/90,001 – S/300,000 80%
S/30,001 – S/90,000 90%
Up to S/30,000 98%

“The increase of S/2,000 million in guarantees from the National Government will allow nearly 40,000 companies to benefit from credits. In this way, the total number of companies that the Impulso MyPerú program will reach will exceed 246,000 beneficiaries,” said Minister Contreras.

After the expansion of the program, the MEF said it reiterated its commitment to citizens, understanding that MSEs and medium-sized businesses are the engine of our economy and the livelihood of thousands of Peruvian families.

“It is essential to continue working together to ensure a resilient, prosperous and equitable Peru. We all do the reactivation and SMEs are the center of the reactivation,” added Contreras.
