Are parents also entitled to the EsSalud breastfeeding bonus?
According to what EsSalud establishes on its website, the breastfeeding bonus corresponds only to mothers. However, if the mother is not currently working, but the father is, the latter can insure his partner through his employment relationship so that he can be a recipient of the financial subsidy provided by the health entity. This as long as you meet the following conditions.
Conditions to receive the EsSalud breastfeeding bonus
- The newborn must be the child of an insured person (male or female) of EsSalud. If you are the wife of an insured, you will have to be registered as an insured.
- Regular insured: They must have three consecutive months of contributions or four non-consecutive months, within the six months prior to the month of delivery.
- Agricultural policyholders: They must have three consecutive months of contributions or four non-consecutive months in the last twelve months prior to the month of delivery.
- Have an employment relationship at the time of birth.
- The nursing baby must be registered as the insured’s beneficiary.
- If the infant dies, posthumous registration must be carried out.
