Heavy cargo transportation suspends strike this Monday, September 11

The heavy load transport unions suspended the strike they had scheduled for this Monday, September 11, after intense conversations with the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC).

The working group, organized with representatives of the National Association of Land Transport of Cargo (Anatec), the Trucking Force of Peru and the Confederation of Cargo Unions of Peru, among others, concluded with an agreement to hold meetings that address problems associated with tolls. .

A preliminary agenda was also developed to qualify the road maintenance carried out by Ositran, in order to improve the conditions of the land transportation service, among other efforts to be worked on with the MTC.

For its part, the ministry urged the members of the transport unions to continue with the dialogue and abandon their forceful measures, which could economically affect the country’s reactivation.

MTC also highlighted some measures that the Government has implemented for the benefit of this transportation sector, such as the payment of S/40 million for the “Toll 40” subsidy program.

Likewise, it was ordered to extend until January 1, 2025 the deadline to require carriers to approve the “Transportation and Transit Regulation Update Course.”

The minutes signed between the Executive and the bus and truck drivers also make approximations on the Regulation of the Fuel Quality Law and the Sanctions Regularization Program, which will be issued soon.

Representatives of Ositran also participated in the meeting, as well as the National Port Authority (APN), Indecopi and Emmsa.
