A power failure that is still unconfirmed has led to an unscheduled shutdown of the Petronor refinery in Muskiz, according to the oil company. The stop has occurred around 05:00 hours this Tuesday.

The stop occurred about 05:00 this Tuesday and “they have proceeded to bring the units to a safe situation, consequently producing high torches.”
The company explained that steps are being taken to restore the electricity supply and to “normalize” the situation.
All of this has been reported to the Basque Government’s Vice-Ministry for the Environment, to the regional delegate for Industry and Energy of Bizkaia, to the coordinator of the Left Margin-Encartaciones Region of the Department of Health and Consumption, to SOS Deiak, to the Ertzaintza and to the municipalities of Abanto Zierbena, Muskiz and Zierbena.
