The mining supplier sector could double its participation in the national GDP in the next 10 years, reaching 6% and in 20 years this figure could be 9%, according to estimates by the Ministry of Production (Produce ).
According to Produce, the mining supplier sector represents “great growth potential, as evidenced by experiences such as Australia and Chile, where the mining sector represents 11% and 12% and their mining supplier sectors represent the 9% and 8% of GDP, respectively ”.
They install an executive table for the development of the mining supplier sector
In this sense, the holders of the Production, Economy and Finance (MEF) and Energy and Mines portfolios installed the executive table for the development of the mining supplier sector. The same that aims to increase the development of this sector, promoting sustainable investments in the different activities that comprise it, according to MEF.
The Executive Board where the public and private sectors participate together aims to “promote regional development through the purchase of goods and services developed through the strengthening of the country’s network of mining providers.”
“The mining supplier sector encompasses not only technological suppliers, made up of suppliers of raw materials and chemical inputs, construction, machinery and equipment and specialized services, but also different activities, such as transportation, metal-mechanical manufacturing sector, textile products, equipment of personal protection, construction, energy distribution, agricultural and logging products, among others, which are also provided by companies of all sizes ”, mentioned the MEF.
