Sunat and unions advance solutions to improve tax compliance

The National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat) reported that today, August 29, met with representatives of the business sector in the second session of the Tax Committee with Unions, which leads. Said space for dialogue highlights proposals from the private sector to improve the procedures and services provided to taxpayers.

The collecting entity indicated that, on this occasion, the results of the joint analysis carried out by the work team made up of professionals from the union – who proposed the topic chosen by the majority – and the Sunat were presented. Thus, Doubts about the treatment applicable to shrinkage, losses and losses for purposes of determining Income Tax were addressed in order to provide solutions that allow for greater tax certainty.

The Sunat pointed out that the issue was proposed in a collegiate manner by the representatives of the business associations that attended the inaugural meeting of the committee, which took place in June.

The session also reviewed the progress of other initiatives that make up the Compliance Improvement Plan, whose development is being implemented by the Sunat. The meeting was chaired by the National Superintendent of Customs and Tax Administration Enrique Vera Castillo.

Among the unions that participated in the session were representatives of the Association of Exporters (ADEX), the National Fisheries Society (SNP), the American Chamber of Commerce of Peru (AMCHAM) and the National Confederation of Private Business Institutions (CONFIEP).

Also present were members of the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE), the Peruvian Foreign Trade Society (COMEX PERÚ), the Association of Banks of Peru (ASBANC), the Peruvian-Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIPJ), the of Commerce of Lima (CCL), the National Society of Industries (SNI) and the Association of Agricultural Producers Guilds of Peru (AGAP).
