The merchants informed that, due to this sudden increase in the price, the citizens are not buying the product. “It sells little because it is very expensive. In a normal season, I used to earn S/50 from the sale of the fruit, now I only earn half,” a trader explained.

Likewise, the Chiclayo merchant announced that the lemon mesh is S/480, when in a normal season it costs S/80; that is, the wholesale price of lemons has increased six times.

Why is lemon expensive?
