The Ad Hoc Commission, according to the report received by the Technical Secretary, decided that the date of the first payment will be Thursday, December 14, 2023. In this way, the return of contributions to the National Housing Fund (Fonavi)a long-awaited demand by almost 2 million people, between workers and retirees, according to information to which this medium had access.
Likewise, this working group was informed that the number of Fonavistas that have their monetary contributions duly identified is minimal, so it decided to modify the refund regulation to include those who have accredited their contribution periods, in order to comply with the mandate of law 31173, which states that payment must be immediate because they are people in a vulnerable state.
As recalled, on Thursday, August 3, the ad hoc Commission approved the regulations to start with the payments according to the latest ruling of the Constitutional Court (TC), which states that only the money contributed by the workers should be returned. Although the Fonavistas do not agree with this decision, they pursue a more important slogan: start with the payments. Therefore, they accepted said proposal with the objective that this payment be on account of the total amount of the debt.
According to the formal procedure, this document was sent to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) to be published as a supreme decree in the official newspaper El Peruano. Since this Thursday, August 24, the commission has decided to include workers who only have the number of contributions identified, this adjustment will be communicated to the Executive, to be published in the coming days.
