Since the end of 2022, the trend of attracting new talent to private companies has continued. 47% of the CEOs surveyed affirm that they will add new personnel to their payrolls in order to streamline and optimize their internal processes for this 2023; however, 33% assure that they will not increase their human capital due to the “suspicions” of the new labor regime that remains uncertain on the part of the Stateaccording to a Vistage study.
“Business leaders have decreased their confidence in the economic recovery expected for this third quarter and are forced to improve decision-making evoked to propose preventive measures under the social and climatic precedents that can compromise the economy next year, thus avoiding investment risks,” said Ignacio Mealla, director of Vistage Peru.
37% of the businessmen surveyed were skeptical regarding the economic recovery of the second quarter of 2023indicating that the economy has worsened, compared to 32% with positive expectations, who perceive an improvement in the economy during the last 12 months.
Among the business sectors that were affected during the first period of the year were agriculture, fishing and construction.
The negative economic evaluations are consistent with the reduction of the annual growth perspective of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), held by firms such as BBVA Research, which now projected an advance of only 1.6% of the Peruvian economy at the end of this 2023 .
On the other hand, More than half of the Peruvian CEOs surveyed (57%) are convinced that economic conditions will remain about the same over the next 12 months.
After the political and social protests that devastated our national events in the first quarter, the Peruvian economy will have to face a new cycle of the El NiƱo phenomenon for this year, which prompts many business leaders to take precautions.
