Peruvian Coffee Day: campaign launched to promote coffee consumption in districts of Lima

For Peruvian Coffee Day, which is commemorated every fourth Friday in August, the Ministry of Production (Produce) has launched the #CaféConPunche campaign to promote the consumption of Peruvian coffee. The event will take place from Monday 21 to Friday 25 August and will have the participation of 25 cafeterias from Barranco, Miraflores, Jesús María, Comas, Los Olivos, San Juan de Lurigancho, Ventanilla and other areas of Lima.

During this initiative, these specialist places will promote coffee from various producing regions, such as Junín, Cajamarca, San Martín, Cusco, Amazonas, Huánuco and the Vraem area.

“The purpose of the campaign is to exceed the sale of 10,000 cups of coffee by August 25, thus promoting the commitment of Peruvians to choose high-quality coffee, produced in the country,” Produce highlighted.

Each customer who purchases a cup of coffee at these locations will receive a CaféConPunche coaster. To participate, they will be asked to upload a photo to social networks with the hashtag of the campaign and tag both the cafeteria and the Ministry of Production.

It should be noted that coffee is one of the main crops nationwide and generates more than 2 million jobs.
