Fertiabono 2: more than S/47 million delivered to farmers in the north of the country

He Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) has reported that so far, 61,550 small rural producers in the regions of Ancash, La Libertad, Piura, Cajamarca, Lambayeque and Tumbes have received Fertiabono 2. This figure represents a accumulated amount of S/ 47 million, reflecting a financial progress of 96%.

This bonus is granted to producers who own up to five hectares of land and use chemical fertilizers. In addition, it provides financial aid of S/235 per half hectare and S/470 per hectare, with a maximum of S/2,350. The deadline to collect it is extended until Thursday, August 31.

To whom is it granted and which crops benefit?

In detail, the bonus is granted to producers who use chemical fertilizers based on nutrients from Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium (NPK) for the 2022-2023 agricultural season, in order to ensure access to these inputs.

The main crops benefited include a wide variety: rice, garlic, cotton, peas, coffee, sweet potato, onion, kidney bean, castilla, palo bean, zarandaja bean, chickpea, broad bean, lettuce, lentil, lemon, hard yellow corn, starchy corn , corn corn, tangerine, mango, apple, passion fruit, orange, olive, olluco, pallar, avocado, potato, gherkin, pineapple, banana, quinoa, tarwi, tomato, wheat, vine, cassava, carrot and pumpkin.

What are the requirements to access Fertiabono 2?

To access the Fertiabono 2, the requirements are the following:

• Possess agricultural units of up to five hectares and make use of chemical fertilizers.
• Be registered until November 16, 2022 in the Register of Agricultural Producers (PPA) and in the organizations of the value chains.
• Cultivate any of the 40 products prioritized by Midagri.
• Not being registered in the payrolls of the public sector.
• Not be a beneficiary of Emergency Decrees No. 022-2022 and No. 025-2022.
