The exchange rate of the dollar The trading session on Wednesday, August 16, began with a downward trend and was located at around S/3.7041, according to preliminary data from the Bloomberg international currency listing portal. This value implies a decline of 0.32% compared to the S/3.716 at the close of last Tuesday.

In the parallel market, the green ticket was trading at S/3.69 for purchase and S/3.72 for sale. While in the banking market it reached S/3,664 for purchases and S/3,753 for sales at the windows of the Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP).

This occurs after the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) released the official results of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at the end of the first semester, which meant a fall of 0.45% driven by the low performance in the construction, manufacturing, as well as agriculture and fishing sectors.

At the international level, investors are waiting for the publication of the minutes of the July meeting of the United States Federal Reserve (Fed). These documents would give guidelines to the markets on the future steps of the organization in terms of monetary policy.
