“Perú Mucho Gusto”: Tumbes Gastronomic Fair will generate S/6 million in revenue

The gastronomic fair “Peru nice to meet you”, organized by Promperú, returns to Tumbes in a new edition to promote the mobilization of national tourists as well as visitors from Ecuador. More than 50 companies participate, bringing the best of 20 regions to one place. It is projected that sales of at least S/6 million will be reached in the three days of the fair, from August 11 to 13.

“We have more than 50 companies here, not only restaurants but also craft sales, among others. The fair will have an estimated economic impact of S/6 million. When it ends we will have a much more specific figure that will probably be higher. In In principle, we are expecting more than 30,000 people and that 10% come from Ecuador,” he explained to The RepublicClaricia Tirado Díaz, Director of Tourism Promotion at Promperú.

Due to the pandemic, the fair could not be held in the last 3 years, but it returns to Tumbes for the sixth time with great expectations. To achieve its objectives, it is being carried out one day after the holiday in the border country, in which the First Cry for Independence was commemorated (August 10). The more than 3,000 Ecuadorian tourists will not only come to enjoy the products and dishes of the fair, but will also be able to stay a few days in the region, requiring mobility and local accommodation.

Free admission and dishes from S/10

This Friday, August 11, the inauguration Peru Much Taste and received hundreds of visitors who queued up to try the popular pork on the stick. The offer is varied, since there are not only 20 restaurant stands but also bars, desserts, drinks, crafts and tourist information.

Admission is free by showing your identity document at the Mariscal Cáceres Stadium in Tumbes from 11 am to 8 pm Meals such as the classic fish ceviche, rice with shellfish, carapulcra, tacacho with cecina, pachamanca and more, are for S/10 , S/20 and S/25 a portion.
