The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), by means of the Ministerial Resolution No. 286-2023-EF/10formed the Executive Board for the development of the Peruvian Amazonwhich aims address, identify, promote and propose actions that allow the productive, inclusive and environmentally sustainable development of said area of the country, in order to contribute to economic growth.
The norm, in its recitals, highlights that in order to face the problems that exist in the Amazon it is necessary to take actions in order to solve issues such as the fight against poverty, informal or illegal activities, deforestation, the assignment of rights over the territory, especially of indigenous peoples, the strategic occupation of Amazonian territories and climate change.
The working group that will be installed within a maximum period of 10 days is made up of the owner or a representative:
- The Ministry of Economy and Finance.
- The Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
- The Ministry of the Environment.
- Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism.
- The Ministry of Culture.
- The Ministry of Defence.
- The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation.
- The Ministry of Energy and Mines.
- The Ministry of the Interior.
- The Ministry of Production.
- The Ministry of Transport and Communications.
- The National Commission for Development and Life Without Drugs – DEVIDA.
- The National Forestry and Wildlife Service – SERFOR.
- The Agency for the Supervision of Forest Resources and Wildlife – OSINFOR.
- The Regional Government of Amazonas.
- The Regional Government of Huánuco.
- The Regional Government of Loreto.
- The Regional Government of Madre de Dios.
- The Regional Government of San Martin.
- The Regional Government of Ucayali.
- The Amazon Regional Commonwealth.
- The representatives of four (4) trade associations that will be accredited by the Amazon Regional Commonwealth.
- The representatives of four (4) civil society associations that will be accredited by the Amazon Regional Commonwealth.
The public and private entities that make up the Executive Board for the development of the Peruvian Amazon, accredit their representatives (head and alternate), before the Technical Secretariat, within a period of five business days from the business day following the publication. of this resolution.
