After the start last May of the construction in Cayambe (Pichincha) of the first of 70 Centers for Agricultural Productive Community Development (CDPAC), the construction is 60% progressed.

This was reported by Eduardo Izaguirre, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), who came to the site to inspect the works. Izaguirre was in charge of laying the first stone of the building on May 8.

The construction of the first of 70 centers for the development of community agricultural production that will be built in 10 provinces has begun in Cayambe.

“Thanks to this infrastructure, we will improve the lives, processes and production of more than 700 people,” Izaguirre said.

In addition to Pichincha, CDPACs will be built in the provinces of Carchi, Imbabura, Cotopaxi, Tungurahua, Bolívar, Chimborazo, Cañar, Azuay and Loja, which are characterized by high milk production and the participation of small local producers.

These centers will enable the formalization of 280,000 liters of raw milk per day, add value and benefit 77,000 producers, but will also serve to promote the marketing of products grown in the area, so that producers get a fair price.
