One of the most ambitious megaprojects included in the portfolio of the Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversión) and which is expected to be awarded this year is the Ancon Industrial Park, a work that is committed to promoting the economic and social development of North Lima.
According to figures from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), the project Ancon Industrial Park would imply an estimated investment of US$762 million and its adjudication is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2023, since it is currently in international public bidding by ProInversión on behalf of the Ministry of Production (Produce).
In this sense, a total of five global companies that operate large industrial park projects in the world have shown their interest in this important project.
Where will the Ancón Industrial Park be developed?
According to ProInversion, the Ancon Industrial Park It will be developed on a 1,338.22-hectare (ha) plot of land, of which 715.74 ha correspond to developable land for the development of industrial and commercial activities, technology transfer (R&D), contributions, public recreation area, services and truck center.
The megaproject will be executed in four periods of investment for a period of 22 years. “The competition factor will be the highest price offered for the land with respect to the established base price,” the state agency detailed.
He Ancon Industrial Park seeks to be an opportunity to invest in an innovative space for industrial activity, which configures a logistics hub of international reference.
“The project will promote the consolidation of the productive and logistics corridor in Lima: port of Callao, Jorge Chavez International Airport, the Industrial Park and the port of Chancay, and it will generate an integrated ecosystem in which large, medium and SME companies develop synergies and new industrial, commercial and technological relationships”, said the executive director of ProInversión, José Salardi.

What impact will the Ancón Industrial Park have?
The head of the MEF, Álex Contreras, stated that this megaproject will boost industrial production and generate logistics chains between large industry and the demand for goods and services from microenterprises. Besides, it is expected to have a contribution of US$280 million in exports. Another consequence is that it will allow the territorial reordering of Lima Norte and the creation of around 120,000 jobs, both direct and indirect.
