Gratification 2023: 60% of working students will invest economic benefit in traveling

At the gates of payment of the gratificationn, which must be deposited no later than July 15, many citizens are considering different investment possibilities. In this sense, 60% of the students who work within a private company and receive the economic benefit will allocate the amount to finance trips, taking advantage of the long weekend for National Holidays, according to the study carried out by the Distance University of Peru (UNITEC).

Likewise, 28% will use this additional money to finance a car, while 17% will pay bank debts and 15% will save. It should be noted that the study also showed that the top 5 careers and postgraduate courses with the most students working are Accounting, Finance, Financial Administration, Economics and Finance, Master’s in Taxes and in Finance.

Which workers receive the bonus?

The bonus is granted to subordinate employees of the private sector, whether they are hired indefinitely, on a fixed-term or part-time basis. It is important to note that workers are not required to have worked a minimum of four hours a day in order to receive it.

In the case of small businesses, employees hired after the company’s registration in the Micro and Small Business Registry (Remype) will receive half a bonus salary, in accordance with the MYPE-TUO DS 013-2013-PRODUCE Law.

Those microenterprise workers who were hired before the registration in Remype are also entitled to receive half a salary.

How much is the fine for not paying the gratuity?

If employers fail to pay until the fortnight of July, they can be penalized with fines from S/544.5 to S/129,294, depending on the labor regime and size of the company. According to the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL), there are three scales of labor fines, approved by Supreme Decree 008-2020-T: microenterprise, small enterprise, and medium and large enterprise (not mype).

It is important to highlight that, apart from the size of the company, the number of workers affected is also considered, taking as a base the UIT of S/4,950 for the year 2023.

The CCL highlights that the fines for micro and small businesses, registered in the Micro and Small Business Registry (Remype), may not exceed 1% of the net income received in the fiscal year prior to the generation in the same sanctioning procedure. of the inspection order.
