With an investment of $100,000, Terpel has opened the first Terpel Voltex fast charger in the capital, in partnership with Kia Ecuador, which is the third company in the country and is part of a plan to expand its supply network for electric vehicles.
The new electric station, which is added to the two already operating in Guayaquil, is located inside the service station (EDS) on Avenida 10 de Agosto and Río Cofanes. Terpel’s investment was complemented by the installation of a Kia charger of 93 kilowatts, which enables simultaneous charging of two cars. Those operating in the main port are located on Avenida del Bombero and Avenida de Las Américas, the latter being the first to be inaugurated nationwide in the alliance between the two brands in April 2022.
In general, counting all brands, until last February, according to the data of the Association of Automobile Companies of Ecuador (Aeada), there were 37 electric stations operating in Ecuador, of which: 17 in Guayaquil, 16 in Quito, 2 in the Galapagos and 2 in the store.
Terpel is a company of Colombian origin present in Ecuador, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Peru. The company started working in Ecuador in 2006.

For Juan Manuel Martínez, General Manager of Terpel Ecuador, the opening of this new electric station confirms the strengthening of the electric mobility network.
“With the opening of this first charging station in Quito, we are not only marking an important milestone in this line of business, but also making steady progress towards strengthening our electric mobility network in the country,” said Martínez, who advanced that as the network grows , it will be possible to interconnect cities with strategic points for fast and efficient charging.

In terms of technical specifications, fast charging will be available for vehicles with Type 2 (AC), CCS1 (DC) and CHAdeMO (DC) connectors, regardless of brand.
