MEF transfers S/86 million to finance the appointment of health sector personnel

The Ministry of Economy has issued the Supreme Decree No. 144-2023-EF. In this authorizes the performance of dThe transfers of resources destined to strengthen the health sector by financing the appointment of healthcare professionals, technicians and assistants. Resources will be allocated in accordance with the provisions of the Public Budget Law for fiscal year 2023.

The transfers, which amount to a total of S/ 86 million, will be directed to the National Institute of Health (INS), the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases and various Regional Governments.

The main objective of these transfers is to ensure the continuity of the appointment of 80% of the health professionals who were appointed in the year 2022, as established in literal a) of numeral 36.2 of article 36 of the Public Budget Law for the Fiscal Year 2023. To finance these appointments, resources for an amount of up to S/81 million will be allocated.

Likewise, what is indicated in literal b) of numeral 36.2 of article 36 of the Public Budget Law for Fiscal Year 2023, which stipulates the appointment of up to 20% of health professionals to be carried out during the last quarter of the current fiscal year. To guarantee this compliance, an allocation of resources of up to S/5 million has been arranged.

According to the MEF, these transfers will directly benefit 2,662 workers in the Health sector, allowing the economic allocation to be recognized in a timely manner. With this financing, health personnel will have the corresponding payments, thus complying with the appointment process and ensuring the strengthening of this vital sector in our country during the current year.
