Until the July 15 Companies have a term to make the payment of the gratuity, a right that corresponds to workers in the private sector, as established by the Law No. 27735. This employment benefit is granted to employees on payroll who have an indefinite, fixed-term or part-time contract.

According to the norm, The worker who has worked the entire semester —from January to June 2023—, will receive the equivalence of a full salary, added to other remunerative supplements that we will detail later.

In the case of small businesses, the workers contracted after the registration of the company in the Micro and Small Business Registration (Remype) They will receive 50% of the bonus salary.

How to calculate the bonus payment in July 2023?

The amount of the gratification equals the last remuneration the worker receives, but without AFP or ONP discounts. To this, additional amounts are added, such as the concept of the contribution to health insurance, which can be 9% for isHealth o 6.75% for any Health Provider Company (EPS).

The calculation would be distributed as follows: full salary + household allowance (if you have minor children or are in higher education) + insurance bonus of 9% (EsSalud) or 6.75% (Health Provider Company).

How to calculate the bonus if I worked less than 6 months?

If the worker did not work the full semester (from January to June), he will receive a gratification proportional that will be equal to one sixth of its remuneration for each month worked, added to the insurance bonus.

Example: if the employee receives a salary of S/1,500 and started working only in February 2023, the calculation of his bonus would be as follows: S/1,500 divided by 6 = S/250. This result is multiplied by 5 (months worked) which is equal to S/1,250. To this amount you add factors such as insurance, family allowance, overtime, among others.
