MEF transfers S/120 million to extend the FISE discount voucher

In accordance with Emergency Decree 021-2023, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) will transfer S/120 million to the Energy Social Inclusion Fund (FISE) with the aim of temporarily expanding for up to S/100, the FISE discount voucher, which is granted for the acquisition of LPG cylinders of up to 10 kg.

“What we are doing is extending the voucher from S/25 to S/50 for four months. In other words, families are going to have S/100 more in totall, with the aim that these resources can be released to acquire other important goods, such as chicken, lentils or other important proteins and that due to the increase in prices, and according to the latest INEI statistics, had reduced protein consumption ”, indicated this Saturday, June 24, Alex Contreras, Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru, on Radio Nacional.

Thus, the beneficiaries of the Energy Social Inclusion Fund (FISE) will receive, exceptionally, for three months an extended consumption voucher that will help them face inflation and the rise in food prices.

Currently, the regular amount of the Social Compensation and Promotion Program for Access to LPG amounts to S/25 per month, money destined for the purchase of 10-kilo balloons. With this new approved measure, it would reach more than one million families —around five million Peruvians— who are in a vulnerable economic situation and who belong to sectors with unsatisfied energy needs. These additional vouchers will be for an accumulated amount of S/100.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) will establish by ministerial resolution the temporality and the monthly increases in the amount of the discount voucher (divided into monthly vouchers), according to the evolution of the final prices of bottled LPG.
