Ancón Industrial Park seeks to promote economic development in Lima

The Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversión) has been promoting the initiative Industrial Park of Ancón (PIA)a megaproject of approximately US$750 million, which aims to improve the economic development of Lima, especially in Lima Norte.

To date, the construction is in international public bidding by Proinversion on behalf of the Ministry of Production (Produce) and its award is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. So far, five global companies that operate large industrial park projects in the world are interested in the megaproject.

The PIA will be the benchmark for other industrial park projects in the country within the framework of the policy and strategy of the sector oriented towards industrial development. In addition, It will generate more than 50,000 direct formal jobs in companies of various sectors and will consolidate the emergence of a new development pole in Ancón, which will contribute to urban planning and boost the economic activity of North Lima.

The project will be developed on a 1,338-hectare plot located in Ancón, owned by Produce, where 715 hectares will be set up for the project with the following distribution: 412.5 hectares for the Industrial and Logistics Area, 28.41 hectares for the Technology Park and Industrial Commerce, 15.76 hectares for the Truck Center, 8.15 hectares for the Business Park, among other components.
