Father’s Day will mobilize close to US$1,000 million

Father’s Day is the main celebration in June and the one that generates the highest sales expectations among merchants.

In the online market, which has made great progress in recent years, the most demanded categories in this celebration are consumer electronics (CE), so TV and audio purchases will have a growth of around 50%, estimates Sergio Giannotti, Marketing Manager of Mercado Libre.

He adds that other categories that will also experience a significant increase are footwear, sports supplements, car accessories and tools, expecting triple-digit growth.

As for online purchases that are made on the same day, according to reports from PedidosYa, on this date the average order ticket reaches S/45 and this year growth of 5% year-on-year is expected.

The platform points out that, during this date, the most demanded categories in the app are drinks, desserts and meals. Among the most popular foods to celebrate the father are grilled chicken, chicken broth and hamburgers.

On this day, Indecopi recommends going to formal establishments to make purchases or to hire a service and thus avoid bad experiences.

It also suggests keeping the payment receipts or any other document that has information about the conditions of service. This in case of claim.

If you want to attend a show, the organization advises buying tickets through the official websites and applications of the organizers, and avoiding exposing the tickets or QR on social networks.

Likewise, it indicates that the organizers of the event have the obligation to guarantee that the conditions of the provision of the service are adequate.
