the congresswoman rosangella barbaranpresident of the Economy Commissionannounced that it will promote a bill for the extraordinary withdrawal of an amount less than 4 UIT (S/19,800) from the funds of AFP.
“I am going to try to present a text to see if the benches, in some way, are in favor of it (…) I think that a limited withdrawal could be useful in our country and that is what I am going to propose”, he advanced in the program “Económika” of Andina Canal Online.
In this sense, he clarified that his initiative would not reach all members of the Private Pension System (SPP), but rather those who have been affected by the rains registered in our country between March and April.
“There is a population that still has not recovered their job and today they do not have a fixed income. I believe that a limited retirement could be the ideal for these people,” he remarked.
There is no date for debate of proposals
To date, there are 10 legal proposals related to the release of funds from the AFPs. All are awaiting an opinion in the Economy Commission. However, the president of the aforementioned working group does not yet have a date to discuss and did not rule out the possibility that the AFP withdrawal projects will be discussed in the next legislature, that is, in the second half of the year.
“I have a position on this (retirement) that the main thing is to help the population that does not recover their job. There are other congressmen whose purpose is to appear on camera (…) The total withdrawal is a populist measure that seems dangerous to me for an economy that is trying to recover ”, she stressed.
