Agricultural exports grew 7% in April, according to the BCRP

He Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) reported that exports of agricultural products reached US$521 million in April of this year, which represents an increase of 7% compared to the same month in 2022.

During the month of analysis, higher shipments of fresh avocados were registeredmainly, and, to a lesser extent, kion and fresh pomegranates.

The monetary entity explained that the volume of shipments agricultural it increased by 6.2% on average compared to the same month in 2022, explained by shipments of avocados abroad, while prices increased by 0.8%.

From January to April of this year, exports of agricultural products reached a value of US$2,133 million, 8.8% more than in the same period of 2022, mainly due to the increase in volumes shipped by 8.6 % and prices by 0.3%.

Main export destinations

According to him Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), at the end of the first four months of the year, Peruvian exports to its three main trading partners, China, the United States and the European Union, amounted to US$12.8 billion, an amount 8.5% higher than that registered the previous year. .
