In 2022, the exports of the member countries of the Andean Community (CAN) to the world reached US$163,012 million, which represents an increase of 19.5% compared to shipments made in 2021, according to the primer Statistics of intra and extra community exports 2022, prepared by said institution.
In detail, shipments from Bolivia to the world grew by 21.6%; from Colombia, at 38.3%; from Ecuador, at 24.3%; and Peru, at 3.4%. According to the statistics prepared by the General Secretariat of the CAN, in addition to the raw materials that are traditionally exported from the Andean region to the world, such as crude petroleum oils and copper minerals, there are others such as coffee, bananas, preparations and preserves of shrimp and prawns.
Likewise, the member countries of the Andean Community registered a 22.7% increase in intra-community exports, going from US$8,667 million in 2021 to US$10,632 million last year. In fact, Bolivia reported an increase of 42.1% year-on-year, Colombia registered growth of 5.3%, the growth of intra-community exports from Ecuador stood at 29.2% and Peru registered a variation of 26.3%.
In the year of analysis, Peru had a share of 30.0% of total intra-community exports, followed by Colombia with 29.4%, Bolivia with 22.3% and Ecuador with 18.3%.
Regarding the participation of the Andean Community countries in extra-community exports, Peru exported 37.1% of the total, followed by Colombia with 35.5%, Ecuador with 20.2% and Bolivia with 7.2%.
