The superfoods Ecuadorians have their own cluster, after more than 30 players from that industry and the public sector officially formed it during the eleventh Businesses of Ecuador Macro-Round that took place in Guayaquil at the end of May last year.
Turmeric, blueberries, lupine, sweet potato, quinine, moringa, chia, quinoa, amaranth, miracle fruit and cricket proteins are the products that will initially be promoted under the country of superfoods which was presented at the launch event, where it is also indicated that it promotes the added value for the development of beverages, protein powder, ice cream, pasta and risotto and flour and premixes.
The logistics cluster was presented in Guayaquil with the announcement of a survey to get to know the situation in the sector
According to the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries, the new cluster aims to strengthen the development of this industry by using the nutritional value of Ecuadorian production, innovation and sustainability.

The Ecuadorian Superfoods cluster is aligned with the demands of international markets as it seeks to consolidate a sustainable and nutritious food industry, which enables the strengthening of local economies with a stable market and fair prices for medium and small producers.
The initiative is part of the cluster strategy for collaboration and innovation, which brings together all actors in the productive ecosystem to expand their market, increase productivity and realize mutual benefits.
An international public-private alliance aims to create a space cluster in Ecuador
To date, 20 projects with different productive ecosystems have been implemented, and 10 initiatives are prioritized for public funding to consolidate their implementation. Previously, in the pre-incubation phase, a workshop was held to analyze challenges and opportunities such as market projection at the international level, increasing sources of employment, stimulating the local economy and productive transformation.
