The College of Bachelor and Public Accountants of Guayas will celebrate eighty years of institutional life on May 29 with about 10,500 associates, including active, passive and retired, and as part of the anniversary activities, they will hold a formal session in which various public figures will participate and award awards.

For work in training and continuing education, the Office of the Mayor of Guayaquil, the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS), the Secretariat of Higher Education (Senescyt), the Deposit Insurance Corporation (Cosede) and the Superintendency of Companies will award honors at an event to be held this Friday , May 26, at 7:00 p.m., in the City Hall.

More than 77,000 new associates were registered at IESS between April 2022 and April 2023.

The college appeared on May 29, 1943 as Sociedad de Contadores del Guayas, and later became the second college of accountants based in Guayaquil, which allowed them to expand the range of non-profit benefits.

According to its president, Fernando Pacheco, the entity’s evolution has not been stopped due to its “adaptability” in the digital sphere, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The quarantine forced us to expand our horizons. A young and hard-working team took the lead so that through the website and the network we could reach those who tried to follow their instructions despite the conditions,” Pacheco points out.

The programs they offer are Accounting Assistant, Inspection, Labor Law, Auditing and Taxation, which, according to Guayas College of Bachelor and Public Accountants teacher and Board Member Jorge Luis Rugel, capture the interest of high school students looking for a “job opportunity” as well as students and experts who need to “replenish knowledge”.

The institution’s training programs are available on the virtual teaching platform.

The entity currently has members not only from Guayaquil and Guayas, but also from Esmeraldas, Loja, Oriente and Galapagos.

“On a national level, the brand of the College of Bachelors and Public Accountants of Guayas is recognized thanks to the work performance of our graduates. Our work on continuous improvement is complemented by contracts for the certification of third-level diplomas and contracts for access to postgraduate courses. In this way, we support our partners”, assures Pacheco.
