The Ministry of Production (Produces) published this Saturday, May 13, the Supreme Decree No. 003-2023 so that artisanal fishermen from fishing cooperatives —whose permit expires on July 31— can process their authorization and thus be able to continue with the extractive activity.
The legal provision indicates that the 930 fishermen who obtained the permit under Supreme Decree No. 006-2016, through the so-called pilot programs, can request a new one through an administrative procedure from their regional authorities. Beneficiaries are located in the San José cove, La Islilla and Tortugas, in Piura.
In this way, in case they do not have a fishing permit prior to the one obtained within the framework of the provisions of numeral 6.2 of article 6 of Supreme Decree No. 006-2016-PRODUCE; It is established that they carry out the procedure before the Regional Government body with functions in the management of respective fishing affairs. While, those who have a prior to the one obtained within the framework of the mentioned standard, may carry out the procedure before the Regional Government body that granted the aforementioned document.
The norm specifies that the permits granted consider access to hydrobiological resources to which they were previously authorized, provided that this does not contravene the current legal framework.
The supreme decree is endorsed by the Minister of Production, Raúl Pérez Reyes Espejo.
