Movistar is the operating company that lost the most mobile lines in April

The Supervisory Agency for Private Investment in Telecommunications (Osiptel) reported that in April a total of 428,945 mobile lines changed their operating company, which represented a decrease of 9.66% compared to the figures reported in the previous month.

The information published in the digital tool PUNKU revealed that the ports corresponding to the postpaid segment represented 66.86% of the total, while 33.14% belonged to the prepaid modality.

in the segment postpaid, portability reached the figure of 286,789 in April, falling 9.56% compared to March. Meanwhile, porting in the prepaid segment reached 142,156 mobile lines, which meant a drop of 9.86% compared to the figures reached in the previous month.

What was the performance of each operator?

In the fourth month of the year, after three consecutive months in 2023 as the operating company with the highest positive net balance (the difference between lines won and lost), Clear gave way to Entelwhich reached 16,308 net mobile lines ported. In second place was Claro with 8,809 net mobile lines.

While, Movistar (-16,936), Bitel (-7,790), Flash (-340) and Guinea Mobile (-51) were the operating companies that obtained a negative net balance in the fourth month of this year.

According to the information provided by the operating companies nationwide, in April of this year, 1,699 fixed lines changed operators, which represented a 46.06% drop compared to March 2023.

The operating companies Optical Networks (839), Claro (411), Cirion Technologies (43) and Fravatel (22) were the ones that achieved the highest positive net balance. At the other extreme we find Movistar (-1,348) which, for the third consecutive month, had the highest negative net balance.
